Hair growth in some regions of the body may be acceptable for some people but not for others. Some people grow thicker and darker hair than others and, for many, noticeable facial hair can be uncomfortable to live with. Modern hair removal technology is sensitive, precise and effective for all areas of the body and for all skin types. Our professional clinical technicians together with the state of the art technology offered by our Palomar lasers offer superior results compared to traditional methods.
Is Laser Hair Removal Permanent?
Hair is natural to the body and grows in stages. At any given time, not all hairs are growing. Lasers and light sources are most effective at targeting growing hair. In practice, no laser destroys all of the hair follicles. Some follicles are destroyed, while others are miniaturized into fine hair, and others are shocked into prolonged dormancy. Multiple treatments are needed for the best results, and the best interval for treatment depends on the hair cycle growth pattern in that area of the body. It is possible that with a sufficient number of treatments true "permanent hair removal" can ultimately be achieved. Age, ethnicity, weight, metabolism, medication and hormones all play a role in the location, resilience and thickness of hair. It is difficult, if not impossible, to predict how many treatments each individual will require to achieve the best long term reduction in hair growth. We typically recommend a package of 6 treatments to achieve optimum results.
