The Obagi Blue Peel is a quick and simple procedure. Application, typically to the face and neck, takes about 20 minutes, depending on the number of coats applied. Patients can expect a burning sensation that lasts only a few minutes and a bluish tint to the skin that usually washes off in 12 to 24 hours.

Following the procedure, patients will experience light swelling. Within two to three days, the skin will begin to peel. This peeling continues over the next several days. By the seventh to tenth day, the skin should be healed and start looking younger and healthier.
